Community Involvement
At the Almonte Learning Garden, our vision is to inspire and attract a community of passionate parents and educators.
The ALG is evolving and growing, and there is room for more to be involved. There are so many people in the Mississippi Mills area and surrounding communities that possess unique talents and skills— volunteers of all ages, educators, artists, and passionate experts willing to share their expertise with the children of the school, to enrich the learning experiences available to our students.
The ALG is currently seeking to expand upon our program curriculum with volunteer help from experts in the following areas:
- Musicians, visual artists
- Yoga instructors and mindfulness practitioners
- Nature enthusiasts and biologists
- Skilled trade persons and other handy-people
- Gardeners
The ALG is also always looking for donations of learning materials for arts and crafts (i.e non toxic paints, fabric scraps, musical instruments, etc.)
If you are a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE), or have Montessori teaching experience and/or training, the ALG would love to hear from you! For more information, see our Job Board.
Please Note:
Health and Safety — All those involved with the ALG, working directly with the children or in support of our programs, must submit a valid Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) to the school before any association with the school and ALG program activities can begin.
