Let’s face it, none of us can be as honest as an animal. If an animal is frightened it will either freeze or run away. Children need this kind of honesty in life in order to develop a stronger awareness of their own behaviour — they need to be calm, considerate, and kind in order for any animal to trust them, and take them seriously.
Meet Bonnie. She is a resident fixture of our classroom at the ALG. She has been specially selected for her easy going temperament and her hypo-allergenic hair.
In addition to our friendly ALG pup, the children also have access to the birds and other animals that frequent the outdoor classroom and yard — they can watch the way squirrels play, see birds feed and fly, and observe other animals that may wander through the property.
